Cardi B’s Am I the Drama?— And It’s Everything

Seven years. Cardi B waited seven years after her debut Invasion of Privacy (2018) to deliver a full follow-up. On September 19, 2025, she released her second studio album, Am I the Drama?, via Atlantic Records. Recorded over a six-year stretch from 2019 to 2025, this 23-track project mixes the big singles, personal stories, and brutal disses.

Songs Throwing Shade: “Magnet,” “Pretty & Petty,” & More

Cardi pulled no punches with tracks that speak directly to her critics. In “Magnet”, she fires shots at JT of City Girls — calling her out as a fake friend and even mocking her relationship with Lil Uzi Vert. Meanwhile, “Pretty & Petty” comes after BIA’s jabs (including in SUE MEEE?), where Cardi answers back with her trademark lyrical bite.

The album also brings in emotional depth. Songs like “Man of Your Word” and “Shower Tears” dig into her divorce from Offset, highlighting betrayal, heartbreak, and rebuilding. It’s not all ice and flames — Cardi shows she can bleed.

Record-Breaker: Fastest Female Album to Platinum

From the moment Am I the Drama? dropped, it smashed expectations. Cardi became the fastest female artist ever to go RIAA Platinum with this album — doing so in just 15 hours. That sets a new benchmark in female rap history.

Why This Album Matters

This is more than just a sequel. Cardi B used the space between albums to grow, to fight, to raise a family, and to observe. Am I the Drama? isn’t just about reviving momentum — it’s about proving she’s still the queen of her narrative. She included past hits like WAP and Up not to pad numbers, but because fans kept asking for them — and because they belong.

Cardi B is slowly proving herself as she gets major songs cleared such as “Imaginary Players” by Jay Z and “Pleasure Principal” by Janet Jackson. With no shortage of collaborators (Megan Thee Stallion, Lizzo, Selena Gomez, Janet Jackson, and more) mixed in with deeply personal tracks, Cardi doesn’t just reclaim the moment — she owns it.
